If comprehensive landscape design services are desired, then the usual process includes an initial meeting where design parameters such as the following are discussed:

• the functions of various parts of the property
• the needs of the people who will use the property
• style and color preferences
• required design elements
• maintenance issues
• privacy issues
• sun and shade
• lighting
• pet needs
• native plants

Then measurements are taken and the plan is started in Vectorworks.  After the Concept plan is finished, we discuss it together and decide on the hardscape elements and start to pick suitable plants. Then the Planting Plan is completed and a list of plants provided. Most often, the clients will then have their design bid upon by landscape contractors who will be comparing apples with apples.
